Fake Rocks For Landscaping

To add curb decoration to your lawn you can use decorative fake rocks for landscaping in numerous ways. From creating borders on flowerbeds to making driveways and walkways, you can easily transform a dull lawn into a beautiful oasis using strategically placed landscape rocks.
To get started decorating with rock on your landscape, you will need to either gather rocks from around your property, or purchase landscaping rocks from local lawn and garden centers. Lowe’s offers both gravel and larger landscaping rocks marketed under the brand name Evergreen that you may use in the lawn or garden to create pathways, plant stands or just to use as borders between the lawn and flowerbeds.

If you want to place large boulders in your yard, but lack the tools or strength necessary to move the boulder, you may consider making a fake boulder using Quickrete brand concrete, boulder molds and concrete stains and paints.

Once you gather landscaping rocks, you must choose how to use them in the lawn. You do not have to choose only one way to use the landscape rocks, but may use rocks of various sizes in different ways throughout the lawn. You may place large boulders at intervals along walkways or driveways or in the center of flowerbeds. Leave the boulders alone or use them as stands to place flowerpots and draw attention to your landscape.

Another great way to utilize flatter and smaller rocks in your landscape is to create a walkway or driveway. For this project you may use landscape rocks from your own property or purchase cut stones from lawn and garden centers. To lay a path or drive from natural cut rocks, you will need to fit the rocks together according to shapes to minimize the gaps between rocks.

To utilize small rocks in your landscape décor, you may create decorative borders for walkways, driveways and flowerbeds. Depending on the exact size of the rocks, you may either place the rocks end-to-end on the ground around the walkway or flowerbed, or dig a trench in which to seat the rocks.

To create a beautiful addition to your lawn using landscaping rocks of various sizes, you may build natural stone fences and retaining walls as raised flower beds or decorative walls around your property. To build these walls or fences, you must begin by excavating a small trench in the intended depth of the wall and then continue to stack the various sizes and shapes or rocks into the space to create decorative and charming stone walls.
